Using AI generation
Last updated: May 27, 2026
How DesignLayer’s AI generates HTML, the once-per-day limit, and regenerating with reference images.
Overview
DesignLayer uses Google Gemini to generate HTML drafts from the intent (requirement text) organized in the design brief.
Results combine landing-page sections (hero, features, pricing, FAQ, CTA, etc.) into a single HTML page. Output is a starting point for studio editing and review — not a finished product.
Usage limits
AI generation is available once per account per day (resets at midnight Japan time).
When the limit is reached, you’ll see: “You’ve used today’s AI generation (1 per day). Please try again tomorrow (Japan time).”
Given the daily limit, finalize your brief before generating. Text edits and theme adjustments in the studio are unlimited after generation.
First-time generation flow
1. Answer the four questions in the design brief (/brief)
2. Open the studio via “Generate & preview in studio”
3. The studio reads intent and starts AI generation automatically
4. After generation, preview and edit as needed
Opening an existing project from the dashboard loads saved HTML — no new generation runs.
Regeneration with reference images
In the studio, attach a reference design image (data URL, max 5MB) to regenerate. Useful for conveying layout or color direction to AI.
Regeneration resets all manual edits (patches). Best for major structural changes; minor copy tweaks are faster with direct studio editing.
Reference images are treated as inspiration — not for copying existing designs. Verify copyright and trademark considerations yourself.
Tips for better results
The more specific your intent (service name, target, CTA, tone, required sections), the more stable layout and copy direction become.
Avoid contradictory instructions (e.g. minimal yet maximize information). Organize using Must / Want / Avoid.
Always fact-check after generation — verify numbers, pricing, and legal copy before export or sharing.
